Local and National Events

SLC6A1 SWITZERLAND participates in local and national events with its information booth, with the aim of raising public awareness of the SLC6A1 mutation and raising funds to support research.

Ascona, June 8, 2025 – SLC6A1 SWITZERLAND was warmly welcomed by the I Mercantini Association during their Svuotacantine Market.
The proceeds from the refreshment stand were generously donated to support the development of the website www.slc6a1switzerland.ch.
We are deeply grateful to Ferdinando Pighi and Suana Ramonda, President and Vice President of I Mercantini, for this generous act of solidarity.

INTERNATIONAL EPILEPSY CONGRESS, SLC6A1 EUROPEAN SYMPOSIUM

Every year, the ILAE (International League Against Epilepsy) organises prestigious international conferences that bring together thousands of experts in the field.

The presence of SLC6A1 Switzerland and SLC6A1 Europe at these events is essential for increasing the visibility of our associations and for establishing valuable contacts in the scientific and medical world.

Every two years, SLC6A1 Europe also organises a symposium dedicated exclusively to SLC6A1, attended by families affected by the disease, researchers interested in SLC6A1 and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry who wish to collaborate with our patient associations.

International Epilepsy Congress, Lisbon, Portugal, 30 August-3 September 2025

During the entire International Epilepsy Congress, we hosted an SLC6A1 EUROPE information booth. The official program of the Congress included again, as it did at the 2024 Congress in Rome, a dedicated 90-minute session focused entirely on SLC6A1.
